Fr Marchand was born and raised in Milton, Vt. Homeschooled K–12, Fr Marchand studied piano and organ privately from 2nd grade, playing at several area parishes and participating in juries and concerts in the Chittenden County area. Towards the end of high school, he had to decide between seminary and music school, and chose to give seminary first dibs. He attended Our Lady of Providence Seminary in Providence, Rhode Island, while obtaining a BA in philosophy and a minor in vocal performance at Providence College. Upon graduation, he went on to major theology studies at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, where he received priestly training and an STB in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Fr Marchand was ordained to the priesthood in June 2018 and served as the parochial vicar at St John Vianney in South Burlington 2018-2020. He joined the parish communities in Rutland and Wallingford in 2020.
He enjoys spending his spare time reading good literature, cooking, playing and listening to music, and seeing his five nieces and nephews.
