Susan is from Plattsburgh, New York. She graduated from St Rose College with a BS in elementary education and English. Further studies included gerontology, and she has worked with older adults in some capacity since 1981.  She completed her MA in theology at St Michael's College while working as pastoral care minister for the Sisters of St Joseph in Rutland. She also has a certificate in spiritual gerontology from the Johnson Institute in St Louis.

Susan belongs to St Bridget's parish, serving as lector, and attends daily Mass in the Rutland-Wallingford Catholic Community. She is dedicated to serving older adults, bringing communion and praying with each homebound person. She delights in listening to each person she visits, and remains inspired by God at work in everyone's life.
